Audiovox pc5740

I have a latitude d600 and I bought a verizon pc5740 card for it.  I installed the software but it still does not see the card.  The card will work in a Ibm.  Both machines are running windows xp.  The dell machine will see other cards and a cknowledges the audiovox card as a usb.

What Chipset did you upgrade?  I have an Inspiron 6000 and have the same issue.

Thanks,

We are using a Latitude D410 with the PC5740 and it is working.    Not happy with the coverage area.....but it is working.

Did you ever find a solution?  I have a Latitude D420 that's doing the same thing.

The offocial word from Verizon Wireless Data tech support is that the PC card will not work with the Inspiron 6000 or the Latitude D600 as well as any laptop with the same chipset.   In fact the tech guy asked me if the laptop still booted after attempting to install the PC Card.   Verizon claims that the Novetell V620 Air Card from Verizon will work in the previously mentioned systems.  For some reason the motherboard will not supply enough power to the PCMCIA slot for the air card to work properly.

Yeah, it worked with my Latitude D400 without a problem.  Works in the Latitude D800, too!  Looks like I just picked the wrong model.  I'm going to contact my sales rep at Verizon and see what they can do for me as far as getting a different card.

Thanks so much for the speedy reply!:smileyhappy:

Just wanted to update this post and let everyone know that the V620 did indeed work in my Latitude D420.  It doesn't seem to be as fast as the PC5740, but it does work!
