Bluetooth Speakers Are Connected, No Sound

I appear to have done everything correctly to set up my Bluetooth speakers, Sony model SRS-BTM30.  I've added them as a device, show as connected, entered in the passkey, drivers were successfully installed when paired.  I thought I even heard a little digital click when the pairing process finished.  But when I go to iTunes or Windows Media Player to play a song, no sound comes out of the bluetooth speakers, only the laptop speakers.  My iPhone by comparison paired up in 30 seconds and is working fine with them, so I know they work.  I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 running Windows Vista.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!
