DA300 No external monitor with Macbook Pro M1

Connecting an external monitor to my Macbook Pro M1:

1. USB-C to DisplayPort cable, directly to the Macbook Pro M1 - Works great

2. USB-C to DisplayPort cable, to DA300 - Nothing happens

3. DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable, to DA300 - Macbook starts blinking, as if a connection is happening, yet external monitor does not respond.

External monitor is Dell U2713HM.

I've read that the DA310 got a firmwear update for a similar issue, could we get one for the DA300 as well please?
