Dell 725 printer & Windows 7 Incompatability

I purchased a laptop with Windows 7 Delux (64) and it doesn't appear to be compatable with the Windows 7 patch on this site for my Dell 725 printer.  I have been unable to link my laptop to my printer using this driver no matter what I do.  Does anyone know if there is a compatability problem or if there is something I'm missing?  I was able to link my Vista laptop to it with no problemusing the XP software on the site so it appears to be a 7 problem.

Thanks!`

Nina72,

Try following the instructions located at...

725 Color Inkjet Printer owners thread

Try installing the Vista drivers in the compatibility mode

Let me know what happens.

Hi,

Thank you for the info but I'm still a little confused.  I got as far as deleting the printer & downloading the driver that you said to click on for Vista but I don't understand "download in the compatability mode" or to find the setup.exe & that instruction.  Where do I find those things?

Thanks!

Nina72,

What you need to do is right click on the drivers, left click properties.

You'll then click on compatibility mode. You'll see a screen like this.

You'll select Vista SP2, click apply, then ok. The right click on the drivers, left click run as administrator and follow the instructions.
