This connection problem happened about a year ago. It was due to some known problem with Macafee making computers crash.

And I am working on posting the Finding System Information because I have to save it to a flash drive.

And right now because we deleted macafee we have no virus protection and we have a microsoft windows firewall.

clairelung23,

Did this connection problem recently happen after Windows Updates?

Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID and REGISTERED OWNER and post the information back here.

What virus program and firewall are you using?

clairelung23,

You removed McAfee, I would run the McAfee Removal Tool to make sure it's been removed, then restart your computer.

Can you connect in the same room as the router?

Download and save to your desktop, Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000 Driver

Make a system restore point.

Start, control panel, device manager, network adapters, right click on Intel(R) WiFi Link 1000 BGN, left click, uninstall.

Tell it to remove the software and drivers.

Restart your computer. When you login, the new hardware wizard will try to install the adapter, but fail. Install the drivers saved to your desktop.
