Hi omerjaved,

Welcome to the community.

I would like to help you out with this issue. It would be great if you can go into command prompt and do an IPCONFIG/all and send me the results.

Also check power options to check if the wireless gets disabled on battery.

You can also get more help on www.dell.com/support/wireless.

Thanks and Regards

omerjaved,

The ip address of 169.254 is a bad ip address from the router...

  • Power off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on the wireless router(if any)

Restart the computer and try to connect.

Start, control panel, network and sharing center, click on your connection, propetties.

Look for TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 and click on properties form each. Have your settings match mine.

omerjaved,

Sorry, I overlooked the adapter.

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Create a Power Plan

Select High performance.

Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.

While in the device manager double click on Dell Wireless 1702 802.11b/g/n, advanced. Look for antenna diversity. Some adapters have this and some don't. If thia adapter has antenna diversity, try changing it from Auto to Aux. Can you also let me know if this adapter has antenna diversity(Thanks)

What virus program and firewall are you using?

I m using Avast antivirus and Windows default Firewall.
