Dell latitude C840 laptop

Hello,

I recently bought a C840 laptop, 1.8ghz, 20 gb, 256 Ram.... And I'm going to make some upgrades on it. What I would like to know if it's possible to put wireless in this machine? If it is, I also would be glad if you put the name of it.
I read somewhere that it's possible, and it's good if you have a processor of 2.4 ghz or something?
Would 1.8ghz work?

Thank you!!!

I have seen wireless (Netgear) working on old, very slow Windows 98 notebook computer.
Are you wanting to use it for hotspots, school (student), work, home?
If home, do you already have wireless router? What brand and model?

Service Tag?
If someone puts that in at
support.dell.com
Then it is possible to read the original configuration of the computer, especially any information about wireless.
If you have a friend who will lend you a PC card for wireless then we can certainly give this a try.

DELL Latitude C840
The configuration is Intel Pentium 4 1.8ghz, 256 MB RAM, 20 HD... the service tag I don't know yet because I still have to pay for it, and pick it up so I'm just wondering if its possible.

Thank you

It's possible to make your C840 wireless.  You can get a 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b/g mini-pci card and install it into the mini-pci slot on the underside of the C840.  The only drawback is that the C840 only comes with 1 antenna connection (you can put in another antenna if you know how to take apart the laptop).  Or you can get a PCMCIA wireless card.

Skuld  - looks like you  have an atheros 5006x minipci . What drivers did you use for that.? I had installed one in my C840 but couldn't get the drivers to run the card. Drivers came from Gigabyte as it was a gigabyte oem card.
