Dellmail Server Problem
My wife has had a dellmail e-mail account since owning our first Dell (many years). She hasn't been able to access the server for2-3 weeks - when the address is put into a browser, it comes back with

Does anyone have any info as to whether this server is down - and if so when it might be up and running again? Problem does not appear to be at our end as it happens on all computers/networks we have tried.
Have tried Dell tech service, but they dont even seem to know that a dellmail e-mail system exists.
Thanks

I myself am having problems accessing my dellmail account and I have a lot of important stuff there that I can't access for 3 weeks now. Funny thing is that I used to work for Dell as Technical support and this public dellmail server is not within our scope. Im not sure which group handles this server so I myself don't know who to contact. Tech support for dell only takes care of their products but since this is a public server which by the way anyone can access and create accounts even without having a dell machine, im not sure they will be willing to look into it. Although I did remember receiving an email from the Dellmail Admins a few weeks back that the server was about to be decommissioned but Im not really sure...hope this works soon so I can recover documents an passwords that I saved there...

I myself am a Dellmail user. I received an email that came from their support team in December indicating they were no longer supporing the 'Dellmail' site. However, the email didn't indicate the cut off date. A month went by and I still had access. Now I keep getting the red triangle with the message "the server is busy" everytime I try to access.
Here is the email I received back in December:

From: "mail.com Member Services"

Subject: IMPORTANT NOTICE: Service Termination
Date: 24 Nov 2009 04:09:07 -0000
Dear Dellmail.com Customer,
We regret to inform you that as of December 15, 2009, we will no longer be providing email services for the dellmail.com domain. As a result all email accounts will be deactivated.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. If you wish to retain any information from these accounts it must be removed before the service termination date.
As an alternative solution we invite you to register for a new email account at Mail.com. To learn more or to sign up for a free account click here.
Sincerely,

Now you noticed I received on Christmas Eve but it indicated the 15th. and it was still working several weeks later. so they may have followed thru or the server may just be down...

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately we got no such e-mail. Still at least I now know that we're not alone in having the problem - and the e-mail you received probably explains why I couldn't find lots of other complaining dellmail users. Just wish we'd got it too !

i wish i had received one too, i needed to get a lot of stuff i lazily stored there out.
i did subscribe to another email site run by mail dot com, verizonmail and did receive 3 warnings from them that that service was dead as of jan 15. it was but so did dellmail.
the verizonmail address is totally dead but dellmail doesnt kick back any email i send myself so i hope it is just an outage and i can recover my stuff.

@ Grizzbbear
THanks for the info - looks like its probably a dead end then. In the meantime, we have - believe it or not - got a response from within Dell. No useful information, but they are at least asking some questions, so may look into it. If I get any info back, I'll let you know. Don't hold your breath though !

I have had the same problem accessing my dellmail account. I did not receive a notice. I managed to change most of the important accounts that I had sending email there, but would still like the opportunity to go and clean my mailbox and retrieve important passwords. I also contacted Dell and after several transfers to various departments, found that no one was aware of this service, but pretended to be willing to help me. I hung up frustrated. Please keep me posted on all of your efforts.
