Dimension 1100/B110, Windows XP, ethernet driver download.
Trying to get online. Error message says "This machine doesn't have any installed network adapters."
I'm trying to connect using ethernet, I thought if I could download the driver it might solve the problem.
There are no Network Adapters listed on the Device Manager.
The Ethernet section of the Device Manager has yellow ? marks.
Please help before I go mad. This is my third day of trying to fix the problem.
Cheers
Phil

I hope you realize using XP on the internet makes you a nice juicy target for malware !

I'll only be using it for a program that wont run on Windows 10, but I need to go online with Windows XP to download the program.

Installing the following in order. Note there are 2 variants for the modem... If R133743 fails to install you have the Conexant modem. If it installs successfully you have the Intel Modem.

Why do you need to go online with XP to download the program?????
You can download the program on any PC even those running 64-bit OS.
Copy on USB drive.
Take over to PC running XP.
Install program.
I have even downloaded a Windows program on my Linux PC and installed the Windows program on my Windows PC.
It really is very simple, and you are making it harder than it needs to be!

Hi
This is the message in my email folder.
One or more of the file types you have attached is not supported. Please remove the unsupported file(s).
I thought if I could access the file via my email on Windows XP the message would disappear.
But you are correct, I’ve just downloaded the program on to a flash drive. Thank you.
However, leee488, I’ve spent so much time on this problem that I’ll still try and get online with
Windows XP.
Cheers
Phil

When I purchased the program it was sent to me as a zip file via email. I kept the original there for emergencies.
Now do you want to hear the latest, I downloaded the program on to a memory stick and loaded into my XP computer, pressed run and it says, error missing file so and so.
The End
Thanks for your help and Happy New Year.

I am not surprised that the XP program is depending on common files which are no longer common such as Visual Studio 6 run-time or perhaps an even older program that it no longer sold.
