Does my desktop have an Internal Wireless Adapter?
I have a Dell XPS 410 manufactured in Jan 2007 with Windows XP Media Center. I'm trying to set up a wireless network. Does my desktop come with an internal wireless or do I need an adapter?
Thanks

Desktop computers do not usually come equipped with wireless adapters unless you order them along with the computer. If you want a wireless capability you will need to purchase and install either a PCI adapter or a USB interfaced adapter. I prefer the PCI approach, but this requires that you open the computer in order to install the PCI adapter. The USB adapter installs by simply plugging the adapter into an available USB port.

One of our older Compaq desktop's didn't have a wireless card; so we added a USB adapter. Had it connected in three minutes. I prefer simplicity - works great. Cheaper than a PCI card, bought it at Wally World.
