FreeBSD Wireless
Hey Everyone-
I bought an Inspiron 8600 a few months ago. I now want to get Linux/FreeBSD installed. I am aware that the Truemobile 1400(a/b/g) mini-pci card is not compatible with linux/freebsd. I messed with the driverloader kernel module but don't feel like screwing with it anymore(nor do I want to pay for it). I want to get a new mini-pci card that will replace the horrible broadcom one. If there are not any supported mini-pci cards I guess a PCMCIA card will work. Does anyone recommend a card for this? I really want it to work in FreeBSD without a lot of configuration.
Thanks for all your replies!
Graham

Thank you for your reply. I figured there would probably only be about 10 people who run FreeBSD on a dell laptop.

Someone knows anyone who has gotten wireless to work with the Dell TrueMobile 1300 interface? Is it even possible to get it to work? As far as I know broadcom hasn't release any info to OpenSource to get a driver?

i found only one way to enable the truemobile card. You have to use the NDISulator module and use the windows driver.
have a look here http://www.xl0.org/FreeBSD/ndis.txt
