How to Setup WEP w/ Linksys Router?

Hello, I have been trying to enable WEP on my Linksys router, but I cannot set it up properly. Maybe someone can tell me why it never recognizes the wireless network after I enable WEP. I go into the Linksys router settings, make WEP mandatory, make sure the box is set to use code #1, and copy the code. Then I go into Available Wireless Networks, select my network, change Data Encryption to WEP, and paste the code into the Network Key box, ensuring the key index is correct. For some reason, it still will not recognize it. Do I need to set anything else up? Someone mentioned I must setup the Dell Wireless Card? Is this true? Did I miss something? Thanks.

The only thing I can think is it should say Shared above the WEP setting in the card. I think you would get an error if the WEP key was wrong(router) I keep all mine in notepad so I don't get confused and put the wrong one on the card. I use HEX because it works better when you use different hardware. Truemobile1300 and Linksys WRT54G.
