I can't connect to the internet.

I have an Inspiron 518 running Windows Vista.  I was having so many problems with the computer that I did a complete manual re-install of Windows.  When I completed this (and I tried it twice) the system won't recognize any internet connections.  I changed none of the wiring (I have an ethernet cable connection).  I've talked to my ISP (W.O.W) and they can't help me.

rockymer,

When you reinstalled the operating system, did you install the Desktop/Notebook system software(if applicable) and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Start with the Desktop/Notebook system software and the chipset drivers and follow the list.
