Inspiron 8100, XP, miniPCI, wireless-N?
I'd like to find a wfi card to replace the ethernet miniPCI card in an old Inspiron 8100 (802.11n draft, perhaps?), I have a Linksys WRT300N router.

If you have a PCMCIA slot on the side of the laptop you might be better off with a PCMCIA card, such as this one

Would a Linksys WPC600N require more machine resources than I have?
They're almost as cheap as the WPC100.
For the most part, I would be web surfing and downloading articles, some video but no games.

No it will not require and more resources. Either card will more than likely do the job.
