Installed new hard drive on E6410. No connections are available. Windows 7.
Successfully installed new hard drive on E6410.
Operating system successfully installed.
Network icon in notification area tells me there are no available network connections.
Tried trouble shooting. No joy.
Used to show all the available connection.
Nothing else has changed.
Network icon continues to just show a red x.
Any suggestions?

You need to install the system drivers in the correct order see here for details:
http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/downloading-drivers-checking-hardware-ids-and-downloading-and-installing-dell-system-drivers-in-the-correct-order/driver-installation/
You may also want to identify hardware variants using the device manager:

Directly connected my laptop to my wireless router with a shot network cable.
Went to www.dell.com.
Opened up the support option.
Went to drivers download page.
Selected 32-bit option and had the site scan my computer for needed drivers.
One of the drivers offered was for my wireless card.
Downloaded and installed.
Rebooted.
Now my network icon shows all available networks, just like in the good 'ol days before my new hard drive.
This really put the happy back into Happy Jackie.
Regards,
Happy Jackie

I took a different route.
Hardwired my laptop to router.
Went to www.dell.com.
Went to support.
Had site scan my laptop.
Installed suggested driver updates including driver for wireless card.
Everything worked.
Happy Jackie is now Happy.
