Latitude D520 Won't Connect to Public Internet

HELP! I don't know much about computers, so I don't even know where to start.  I have a Latitude D520, which my work (a high school) provided.  I used to go to coffee shops and connect to the internet all the time.  Suddenly, I can't connect anymore.  My wireless sees the wireless network (Coffee Bean, etc.) but doesn't automatically connect anymore.  Then I try to connect, and it takes a really long time and just doesn't connect.  Then it can't find the network anymore, or will connect for a few seconds but kick me off right away.  The weird thing is that the wireless connects me when I'm at school or at home, just not in public.  Can anyone help? Thanks so much!

Tashi123,

You could try posting an ipconfig /all log, it may tell us something.

Since this is a work computer, it masy be something that they have to change to get it to work.

Tashi123,

Go to device manager(right click my computer, left click properties, left click hardware, left click device manager)

Click on network, double click on Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card, advanced. Look for Antenna Diversity. Change it from Auto to Aux.

Restart your computer and try to connect.
