Mystery Updates

I know, that every time you boot up your computer, " Adobe Flash " will prompt you with       updates every single time updates are available. 

Last week or so, my internet connection had a problem, so there was no internet connection for quite some time " BUT " | " Adobe " prompted me with updates! How was that " EVEN "          possible!?!?
