Network adaptor

Talktalk replaced router damaged by thunderstorm, we have 4 dell computers in odd rooms all work except the one next to the router which will not connect to the internet. Device manager shows no network adaptor. The storm could have damaged it and if so can some one recommend a card to replace it, I have replaced the sound cards etc in earlier computers so hopefully I can do the same WITH THIS.

Hi Ray,

Any PCI or PCIe network card will work fine as long as the slots are not being used for other cards. Here are a list of cards from Dell: http://dell.to/2dbYXJu

The Intel one listed at this link will be fine but there are others listed here as well. Please note that a full height card will be fine as long as your system is the mini tower version. If for some reason your system has a slim chassis (it shouldn't have one) you will need to use a half height card. Some cards will come with both adapters but they might need to be purchased from a different site.

Here is a guide for your system on how to install the card: http://dell.to/2dbYW8o;

Best regards,

Brad
