Network driver for OptiPlex GX1 - 1CJ4Z

Question

I tried vailnly to download the network driver for the onboard NIC on my OptiPlex GX1(1CJ4Z). I tried  the different network drivers listed in Dell's support page. But none of them worked. Any help to solve the driver problem will be appreciated!     Thank you

The NIC in the GX1 is a 3C90x Equivalent.

I was having a similar problem, and the only driver of the one's listed that would install caused my windows xp to not boot; I had to go into safe mode and uninstall the nic just to get windows to boot again. Any suggestions as to why this happened?

XP doesnt need any drivers downloaded to work on the GX1. It just installs.

Any version of windows past WIN98SE and up do not need any drivers.

If something doesnt work its because its disabled in bios or cards installed conflict with whats onboard.

A clean install of WIN98SE or higher works without error on GX1's
