Optiplex 5040 - NIC getting disabled in BIOS on restart

We recently did a computer refresh of ~200 machines with Optiplex 5040's.  So far we've got about 8 machines that will randomly(but frequently) change the BIOS NIC setting to disabled when they hard restart.

We've updated the BIOS to 1.4.4 and have made sure to save the changes and set them as default when we enable the NIC's.

Since these are new machines under warranty we will probably go that route, but figured I'd check here and see if anyone else has been down this road.

Yes, we are experiencing the same issue with only a handful of 5040's.  Bios update is of no help.  The problem is very random and frustrating!

He have a group of Optiplex 5040s with the same issue.  When this happens is also triggers bitlocker to ask for he recovery key.  We are looking for a solution as well.

We too have just begun to experience this with a handful of Optiplex 5040s out of approximately 100 deployed.  Did you ever resolve @HHRBEK?

In the end we had 4 motherboard replacements.  Two resolved the issue.  The third one worked — for only two days.  The fourth motherboard replacement failed (NIC disabled in BIOS).  In the end, setting a BIOS password, the NIC has not been turned off between restarts.  This anomalous behavior was present with BIOS 1.2.7, 1.4.5, and last month's Nov. 23/2016 1.5.4 — only setting the BIOS password has brought NIC stability.
