Brian,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Dell does not support dual booting systems.  As for the windows 98 drivers, you will have to go to the manufacturer of the card for these.

brwct8,

The only operating systems that Dell supports on this system are:

  • Windows XP Home
  • Windows XP Professional

You may find what you need at drivers.com or elsewhere on the Internet.

PCTel sold their “softmodem” business to Conexant during May of 2003… as mentioned ”here”.

The PCTel generic driver downloads (Win9x, ME, NT, 2K/XP) are now located on the Conexant website (”click here”).

Aloha,
Rod

As usual Dell will tell you they don't support that OS with that system, 98 on a i8500. That is fine but they also don't tell you they have been using that modem since the C610 series. I have a PCT2304WT in my C610. The drivers are OS specific NOT notebook model specific. So if you want Dell drivers for the modem look on the download area for a C610 and download the drivers for that modem for 98.
