Re-installation

Hello,

I apologize if this is the wrong section, I couldn't decide if this should go in laptops, drivers, or here. To make this short, I have an inspiron 1545. I had to wipe the drive and reinstall, I have the OS disc but do not have (and cannot remember if it came with) any other installation discs for it. I have downloaded  the drivers off of the Dell site for the laptop and put them on it via usb, and installed them. However It will not connect to anything.  It will not connect wireless or hardwired. Is there a particular installation driver I'm missing and can download? Can I download a virtual disc of the ones I no longer have? Support and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

Now that the Operating System is reinstalled, the drivers should be installed in a particular order for the computer to work properly. Please refer the link below for installing the driver in the correct order.

Please download the drivers for the Inspiron 1545 from the support site. The link for the support site is:

  1. Enter the Service Tag.
  2. Click Submit.
  3. Choose the relevant Operating System and the drivers will be displayed.

The steps to install the drivers are:

  1. Download the driver file to the desktop.
  2. Double-Click the downloaded file and click Run.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

Please update all the drivers for the laptop as stated in the first link.

Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.

Please post back for any further questions.
