Really weak Wi-Fi signal - XPS 13 9350

Hey.

I just bought a brand new XPS 13 9350 (Windows 10. 64 bit) from dell.com, and opened it up.

I was so excited to get it going with it, which quickly turned out to so much disappointed to find out my 5 years old Samsung notebook has much better Wi-Fi reception than this one.

My signal strength on ALL the networks is so low, and even when I connect - traffic rate is not something I'd expect from laptop that cost that much...

I tried to update the last version drivers (Dell Wireless 1820A WiFi Driver, Version 1.555.0.0) to no avail...

Right now I'm really disappointed by the performance of this laptop. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

I sent 3 back to Dell due to WiFi and related issues. I'm now on my 4th which is the latest 7th gen processor and Killer WiFi card, the issues are still not fully fixed, I think the card shielding is to blame, too much kit in too small a form factor requiring too much power from an overwhelmed battery.

Lost the will to fight it anymore.

"802.11ac (like 11n) requires the WLAN to have AES encryption (or Open) and WMM."

If you have problems with WIFI, it is worth a try to change a setting?

andycas - did you try changing the setting?

I'm going to need step by step instruction for this. Happy to check, not happy to spend any more time on this machine than necessary. I've wasted hundreds of hours already.:(
