Sound card not functioning along with other drivers

I formated my Latitude D620 laptop. Since then the sound disappeared. Actually i do not have the drivers but when i try to download from the Dell site. It downloads and gives an inexecutable file. I also tried downloading it on a different system and brought to mt laptop,but it saw the DELL file and engines there as inexecuteable . How can I get the driver from the net and run it without problems. Urgent!!!

If you chose to use the Dell Download Manager instead of the standard browser option to download the drivers, that's probably what it's trying to run, not the drivers themselves.

Remove the Dell Download manager using Add/Remove (if it's listed), then go to your browser and delete all the Dell cookies to remove the Download Manager as the default option.  Then you should be able to go back to the drivers page and select just the browser option.  More FAQs here:

There is also a recommended order to install drivers after a reformat - if the system software and chipset aren't installed first, sometimes the remaining drivers will not install properly:
