Vostro 200 with intel 82562V-2 NIC

I've heard this ethernet card is actually a GigE card, does anyone know how to fool my system into recognizing it as a gigabit ethernet card. I'm about to add an unmanaged gigabit switch to my wireless router and would like to be able to use this feature on my vostro.

Dell vostro 200

Intel core 2 dou 2.43 mhz

2 gb memory

250 gb harddrive

and this intel 82562v-2 ethernet card.

There was one guy who downloaded intel pro 1000 DOS files and was able to manipulate his system into recog. this card has a pro 1000 gige card, but it was way to techy for me.

Thanks in advance.

From what I see in the system specifications, the Vostro 200 (in both chassis sizes) uses the Intel 82562V 10/100 NIC.  It is not a gigabit ethernet devices, although the Intel drivers for the 1000 Mbps version will probably work with it.
