Wi-fi connection on Dimension 4500

Hi all,

New to the community so please don't yell at me if this is in the wrong place.

I have had a Dimension 4500 (2GB, 1.5Gb ram) for some time now and it has always been a very reliable PC.

I had it connected to a wireless router and then it blue screened. I have re-installed the OS (XP) but I cannot get the wireless adapter to link up with my router.

I am on Sky broadband and my other PC's all connect up very well, it's just this one.

I am using a Belkin adapter and have all the drivers etc. but have had no luck hence this frantic message to you guys.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Del.

Did you installed the Desktop System Software when you reinstalled XP? That along with the chipset drivers must be installed first before all the other drivers or the other drivers do not install properly. You should also consider that the 4500 is old now and some other hardware might have failed--hard drive, motherboard, memory. Run the Diagnostics.

Yes I did, as I did when I installed it first time around and had no problems.

Sorry this was not the solution.
