Windows 10 and Broadcom Virtual Wireless Adapter
The Get Win 10 app tell me that my Broadcom Virtual Wireless Adapter will no support Windows 10 and I may not be able to connect to the internet and I need to upgrade the driver. I have the most recent driver which is version 5.60.48.18.
This is for a Dell Studio 1557 with a Dell Wireless 1520 Wireless -N LAN card.
So will it work or not or should I just not upgrade to Windows 10?

Simply stated, "If your computer model is not listed, Dell is not testing the device, and drivers have not been updated for that model.".

Jesse,
but what to do? when will a driver be available or is there another solution?
Windows 8.1 is not the best OS to work with

So, should we expect dell releasing driver updates for windows 10 for network adapter ? or we just need to replace the wireless adapter ?

Will I still be able to connect to the Internet with a cable connected directly to the modem?

Ok. Assuming you made a typo my computer is a Studio 1557.
So do I continue with Win7? Buy a new computer (probably Dell's choice) or will Broadcom and/or Dell get with it and provide an update/upgrade to the current driver?

Come on DELL - WAKE UP!!! I looked at the list of laptops that have been tested with Windows 10 (on the DELL website). My 4 year-old Inspiron N7010 didn't even make it!!! However, my 7 year-old Lenovo is ready for the Windows 10 update with no restriction. This is the last DELL computer I EVER buy!!!!!!!!!

My 4.5 year old inspiron 2305 all in one has the same issue. I checked the list as well and my machine is not on it. I am ***. I have 4 Dell's in my house and it is also my last one if this is not soon addressed so I can update to Win 10.

I am having exactly the same issue with my Dell Inspiron 3420 (2.5 years old).
The Get windows 10 app says "Broadcom Virtual Wireless adaptar" is not compatible with Windows 10.
Wake Up DELLLL, and release an update of Broadcom Wireless Drivers which are compatible with Windows 10.

My last dell also. I have 4. My 5yr old laptop is ok for wind.10, but not my 4yr old inspiron 1 , 2310 touch all in one. Windows 10 is great and now i am stuck with 7 on my main desk top.
Let's have an update to the problem.

It seems Dell is remaining silent on the additional question. So apparently there is no plan for an updated driver or a replacement driver. Not a good situation. All Broadcom needs to do is change the driver programming a bit to allow W10 to work with it.

Me too I've the same problem!
I've a XPS 8300 bought in 2012 and when a few days ago I upgraded the OS to Windows 10, Broadcom bluetooth and wifi card stopped working!
For bluetooth (Dell Bluetooth 365 module) I solved by downloading the drivers from the Lenovo website and now it works very well with Windows 10!
But for wifi (Dell Wireless 1520 (802.11n) half-mini module) i don't found any solution!
I am surprised that Dell does not offer support for Windows 10, for PC relatively recent (I bought mine in 2012).
I also have a laptop HP Pavillion, since 2009, and it all works perfectly with Windows 10...

Can dell let us know something. So users with this issue know what next steps to take to switch to windows 10. I too have a laptop N17R purchased at the end of 2011.

If Dell expects me to order another Dell laptop ( I have had three) it is mistaken if it will not do a simple driver update for Windows 10.

Same here. Inspiron 17R only 4.5 years old and apparently the only thing preventing upgrade to W10 is Broadcomm adapter.
