Wireless networking

To anyone who can answer this.  I'm about to have wireless highspeed installed at home.  I was wondering if the PC I have is compatible.  The PC I own is an XPS Rxxx series and Its OS is 2000 Pro.  Since I think it should be compatible.  Besides the Cable/DSL modem and wireless card, what else could I need.  I will probably run two computers off the same modem.  The modem that is required is a D-Link.  No other systems will work.  Any help would be great.
