inspiron 8600 and VZ broadband UM175 card

last week signed up for VZ broadband. Come with UM175 and a Y cable.

Back of this Inspiron has 2 USB ports.  Bottom one I use for my cordless mouse and top one for UM175.

I ordered a PCMCIA 2 USB card a few days ago and was wondering if it matters if I connect short leads from Y cable to PCMCIA card USB ports or

to connect short leads from Y to rear ports and

use PCMCIA card for my cordless mouse and printer cables.

Or should I have bought a USB hub for these 4 connections.

I'm told there is something going on here about watts and leakage or whateveras it relates to this UM175 which may or maynot mean anything.

thanks

Now 2 days later it would appear this Dell Forum is a bit slow in answering questions.  Hello is anyone home?

Dell support where are you?

The Dell Community Forum is a place for users to help users, not for Dell Tech Support to help users.  Also, from what you posted, it appears to be a problem with a non-Dell part for which I do not have any experience.  My suggestion would be to check with support for Verizon or the maker of the UM175 card.
