mini card for sprint

Hello,
  I didn't get the sprint 5700 mobile mini-card for my m1210.
I'm wondering if it can be bought here and then inserted
internally.  Verses buying an external usb or card from sprint??

I saw one but it said it was only compatible with the lattitudes.
Any information would help.
Thank you,
Jane

Hi Jane,

Even i noticed the same when i went to search for this part on the dell site. But when we order a new 1210, the Customize option on internet does give me an option to select 5700 for sprint as given below. Confusing.. ain't it??
I suggest you first check with Dell Sales to find if they have this part and if it can be ordered seperately for XPS 1210.

Hi, it is confusing and when I called they only said they had it for Verizon and Cingular....
I'm needing broadband access soon while a buisness partner is down, and
Sprint has the best coverage I think.

Hi,

Just an assumption... May be the  card  is not in stock.. :-) If they can ship a verizon card, they can as well ship a sprint one as both use the same slot on the notebook. When the sales rep said, they can send a verizon or cingular card, did they mean an external card or an internal one?

You have two options if nothing works out from dell..

1) Novatel Wireless EX720 from Sprint

2) Novatel Wireless Ovation U720

and click on Mobile Broadband Cards and enter your Zip Code.

Thank you for the reply...it's really helped.
And dell showed me where to buy the one to go in to my
computer!
Thanks,
Jane

There is an internal card too. I think the part # is 313-4797. It is called a Dell Wireless 5700 Sprint Mobile Broadband card. Also, for this card to work you must have the camera. If you don't have the camera you cannot use this card and should use the expresscard noted in the previous post.

Hello. I also need the builtin broadband wireless card for Sprint to go into my XPS M1210.

msjaneoly, can you tell me where Dell showed you to get the part? I can only find this part for the Latitude 620/820 and when I called sales they turfed me to tech support, who also couldn't tell me where to get the part.
