not able to connect to wireless network

When I try to connect to my wireless, the computer shows that it is connected to the wireless but shows up as "unidentified network and no internet access".  I am using a USB wireless adapter and it worked fine until we had a lightening storm and now I can't connect.  So could it be that  something to do with the inbuilt wireless adapter.  Is it possible for it to stop working so suddenly?

HBOND602,

Electrical storms play havov on wireless devices.

Power off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, the power on the wireless router(if any)

Restart your computer. Try to connect.

When using a USB Adapter, try using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings I use channel 11. The adapter will work best on channels 1, 6 or 11.
