roaming aggressiveness

Is it possible to "completely" disable the roaming feature of the internal 3945ABG chip in a Latitude 520? Even if I set the "roaming aggressiveness" key to zero, when connecting to a Dlink dsl-g604t wireless router, I get a lot of "roaming event from driver" notifications from the Intel troubleshooter program, and the connection is never established.
I can easily connect to this router with any other external wireless card I have tried, but not with my beautiful Latitude.
I have all drivers and firmwares up to date, and I can easily connect my Latitude to other wireless router.
I think that this was the problem just because I am not aware of connection problems with Dlink routers...
Thanks for any advice.
