system recovery

just paid staples to do a system restore ..could not get windows to boot up.. now i have my dell back to the original factory settings.. windows professional is gone along with everything else. my issue is  this.. the service techs did not reinstall the wireless network adapters software and im not sure how to do this.. it is an older dell inspirion 8100 .. the wirelss network adapter card goes into a slot on the side.. do i have to restall  network utitilys software? there is so much software with this  dell .. im not sure which one to  install.. cant get online to do updates until it is all installed.  its  not like the newer coms that have the wireless cards built in.. if anyone can guide me though this i would be ever so grateful..  i have read  and read and am still very confused on what to do next..  Diane
