PowerConnect 3524p (The MAC address is not valid. You must set it now! )Error

Hi, i have a dell 3524p. It powers up fine but promp message asking for mac address and keep asking password which i can't figure out. Please let me know if you can help. Much appreciate.

You will need to make a Console connection to the switch. Then reboot the switch and follow the below steps.

Autoboot in 2 seconds - press RETURN or Esc. to abort and enter prom.

 

     Startup Menu

 

[1]  Download Software

[2]  Erase Flash File

[3]  Password Recovery Procedure

[4]  Enter Diagnostic Mode

[5 ]  Set Terminal Baud-Rate

[6 ]  Back       

            

 <------------ Press CTRL-Shift-6  to get Advance menu

 

 

Enter your choice or press 'ESC' to exit:

 Advanced menu activated.

 

==== Press Enter To Continue ====

 

     Startup Menu

 

[1]  Download Software

[2]  Erase Flash File

[3]  Password Recovery Procedure

[4]  Enter Diagnostic Mode

[5 ]  Set Terminal Baud-Rate

At this point it may ask you for a password. on the 3500 switches use the password "Ryan"

You should then be allowed to enter the MAC address that is printed on the switch.

There is a default password available.  For security reasons it is not something that we can share thru the Community Forums.  You will need to call into phone support.  They will be happy to assist in getting this resolved as quick as possible.  I hope you can understand the reasoning behind this procedure.

I gave them a call but they couldn't  figure it out. Does anyone have any tips?
