Cd drive will not start.

I have an Inspiron 530. When I place a CD into to it nothing happens. If I go into "my computer" and look at the drive I get a message "device cannot start, error code 10". Anyone familiar with this problem?

Hi, murraywhyte:

Please go to the CD/DVD FAQ (link below) and follow the instructions for a "code 39 error" for your operating system. This usually solves the Code 10 problem as well.

Osprey4, Thanks for the help. I followed all the instructions and erased lower and upper filters and now it works. I have no idea what I did but it works. Thank so much. MW
