Help needed with lost password
Hi. This is my first-time here at the Forum. My son and I need help with his Dim E310 desktop computer. We used it, briefly, in 2006, but it has been in storage ever since. We just got it back, but we can only use it as "Limited" Users and/or the "Guest Account". The passwords for both of the Administrator accounts have been lost and forgotten. How do we fix lost passwords for user accounts with administrator power. Can we just restore Windows XP to the way it was when we got it? Or is there another way? I've learned my lesson. This won't happen again. Thanks for any help that you can give us.

Try the system by following the procedures below
Every XP system has an account named Administrator. With XP
Home Edition, this account is hidden and can only be accessed
in Safe Mode. When you boot into Safe Mode, you should see
Administrator listed on the Welcome Screen. Click on that icon
and log on with that account.
What happened when you tried to boot into Safe Mode? If Windows
is automatically logging you on with the limited account go to
Start -> Log off and select Log off. This should cause the
Welcome Screen to be displayed.
Is the Administrator account listed on the Welcome Screen?
Boot into Safe Mode and logon with the built-in
Administrator account. You can then go to Control Panel ->
User Accounts and create a new account that is a Computer
Administrator or change the Limited account to admin.
To start in Safe Mode, reboot your computer and
start tapping the F8 key as soon as you see anything
displayed on the screen. Keep hitting F8 until the Advanced
Startup Options menu appears. Use the up and down arrow
keys on your keyboard to select Safe Mode. Hit Enter.
