My order of a XPS 15z was delayed! From 12 to 23 days!

Hello,
Good morning.

I would like to understand why my order placed and processed on the 09/28/2011 which was first estimated delivery on 10/10/2011 is now "updated" and delayed until 10/21/2011.
My computer, an expensive one, is now delayed 11 days.
My system is a Dell XPS 15z with the top specifications.

As you can notice on my purchase order, I ask for the next day shipping, that was because I have process depending on this new computer. I have a time schedule attached to this expensive computer.
I want to understand why is this delay applied to my new system and I also want the computer being shipped by 10/10/2011 as we agreed between you (Dell) and me when we both accepted the order payment and setup.

Still, I think is not transparent and client-orientated to not send me an email when this delay is happening and wait until the order is fully delayed to advice me.

I can read this:
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/order/en/delay_messaging?~ck=ln&c=us&l=en&lnki=0&s=gen
and this:
http://en.community.dell.com/dell-groups/new-to-community/f/3511/t/19269596.aspx
But those are non-updated explanations. I need an explanation here and my computer tomorrow (or the day after)!

Thanks.
Kind regards,
pepemosca

I have just noticed that if I bought the computer today (and that's 11 days later)... I get the same delivery date!

If you cannot see the picture, here is a link for a more resolution one: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/194/comprael20111009.png/

So my question is... what was Dell doing this 11 days?

@FIREBERD , did you read my first post?

I already mentined that I had read that post.

But there is outdated information on it.

I don't understand the way Dell treat his customers: if I bought the not top of the line XPS 15z... It was shipped on the next day.

Because I bought the top one, I got delayed for 23 days!

Strange behavior.

Did you read the Dell FAQ at the top of this forum section?    http://en.community.dell.com/dell-groups/new-to-community/f/3511/t/19269596.aspx

It all depends on parts.  The computers generate delivery dates but the computers don't always know about parts delays at the factory (in China).  I've seen the same thing on other items, not just PC's.  Much of the production components are "just in time".  No company wants to delay deliveries and make customers mad.

I missed that you read the post, but if you read the post then there wasn't any real reason to post other than to make a rant and get it off of your chest.  It's not going to get your PC delivered any faster.  The Post is an old FAQ, but it doesn't mean it no longer pertains, generally.

Another US music electronics company recently had $250,000 worth of equipment delayed at the China assembly plant because the company that made the power transformers went out of business and a new transformer vendor had to be contracted with to make the part.  A friend owns a local music store and he had his order delayed 6 months due to the production problem.

PS: I updated the FAQ's to reflect current parts shortages of the processors.  Thanks.

@fireberd, thank you for your lines and comments.

To be honest... I still don't get it why my system was delay at the beginning and now get a double time delay.

Also, is not my problem is there is a problem in China. I buy a computer to Dell USA no to China.

I mean, I don't want to be rude (I know I'm now, hope you can forgive me for this), but if Procter & Gamble has a problem with a China factory... I still need my Pantene shampoo.

Hope you get my point and don't get mad with me.

Sorry in advance.

And again, thank you for your insights.
