problems with reboot after installing new hard drive on Inspiron 6000
Hello:
I just replace my original hard drive on Inspiron 6000 with a PATA HDD54-160 2.5" 5400R drive. After installing HD, windows XP does not recognize my CD (authentic MS Windows XP); hence cannot re-boot. Any suggestions?

if you are trying to boot from the disk by just putting the disk in and booting and this is not working try this.
When you see the big Dell splash screen tap the F12 key to bring up the boot menu. Select the option to boot from the onboard CDRom drive
