I have the same "edge detection failed" message after running Dell's diagnostics online tool (manual check, as the "basic" and "advanced" checks did not pick up this error)
My problem started with my web camera that all of a sudden went "blurry" or totally out of focus as if stuck in a "macro" zoom mode, as only objects right up (centimeters or less) to the lens will be in focus.
Dell reports it is a driver or 3rd party issue, and I've followed Dell's link to the Microsoft repair steps (for win10) without any results! The only 3rd party software I have is Skype and WhatsApp that have access to the camera.
As usual, DELL will probably never return or help with these issues. It seems to be an old issue judging from my research.
But the fix for me is easy.. Remove ALL of Dell's products from my computer retail shops, and switch all my clients to ASUS for the win!
