OpenManage 9.1.0 not connecting to ESXi 6.7

Hi,

I have installed the OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-9.1.0-2757.VIB-ESX65i_A00.zip on a ESXi 6.7 version.

Then I upgraded my OMSA on Windows 10 to 9.1.0 and I'm still able to connect to ESXi 5.5 version using old VIBs (8.4 or 8.5) and I'm no able to connect to the recent ESXi.

Is there something else that we need to do?

I've checked the "Ignore Certificate Warnings" checkbox and it takes a long time and does nothing...

Hi,

Can you private message me the service tag so we can get some additional information?

Since Esxi 6.7 is new we have not validated it with OMSA yet, we may need to wait for a new update.

I'm in the same boat. I have a Dell r710 with the latest updates installed and a fresh installation of esxi 6.7 with vCenter and I have the same problem. I have installed the OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-9.1.0-2757.VIB-ESX65i_A00.zip file and rebooted the server but when I try to connect using OMSA the screen stay on veryfing credentials. I have OMSA on Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2012 R2 with chrome and Firefox with no results. Is there something that I can do apart downgrade esxi 6.7 to 6.5?

Are you also having issues with your R710 and devices showing up as not supported or have a health status of Unknown?

Sorry for late, I was out of home.

Yes, I also have the same issues: my storage devices health status is Unknown.

Now I have downloaded the Dell Image of ESXi 6.7, tomorrow I'll try a fresh install and I'll let you know if I have the same problems.

Sounds good! I started with ESXi 6.0 on my R710, then upgraded to 6.5 and have not had any issues. This 6.7 version is giving me headaches. Hopefully the Dell image works for you.

Nothing to do.

I have just installed ESXi 6.7 using dell customized iso but the status of all my storage adapter is unknown.

I'm using a Dell Perc H700 with megaraid_sas driver and everything is working OK but I'd like to know why the adapter status is unknown on 6.7.

I also started with ESXi 6.0 then upgraded to 6.5 without a issue but now with 6.7 I don't know what to do and I don't want to downgrade to 6.5.

I also tried with Windows Server 2016 with hyper-v installed and while the OS is not supported I had no issues at all, I have installed OpenManage 9.1 and I have created a Virtual Volume without issue.

I have done exactly the same thing without results.

Bios, Lifecycle Controller and iDrac Firmware are on the latest version.

If you run "esxcli storage core adapter list" also you get "unknown.vmhba0" on the UID Column?

Yes, same error message on my end and my RAID card is the "LSI / Symbios Logic Dell PERC 6/i Integrated"

Here is what I have tried on my R710, but none worked and I'm still experiencing the same issues as you:

1. Updated BIOS from 6.4.0 to 6.5.0 (released Mar 20, 2018).
2. Updated iDRAC 6 firmware from 2.85 to 2.90 (released Jul 25, 2017).
3. Removed OMSA VIB plugin version 8.5.0 on my ESXi server and installed the new 9.1.0 version.

I'm hoping someone from Dell can chime in here.

Another thing but that probably isn't related to this: I have a 320GB FusionIO card with the latest firmware installed that I have just tried to install on my r710. I have installed the latest drivers available on Sandisk site but again the status is unknown.

I don't know what to think, I have no idea what to do because apart the status unknown everything is working without any issues

My card is "LSI / Symbios Logic Dell PERC H700 Integrated" with scsi-megaraid-sas 6.603.55.00-2vmw.670.0.0.8169922 driver

Already tried and again the same thing.
I have the same problem that you have: the screen hangs on verifying credentials.

I have also tried with the latest version of OpenManage integration for vCenter (https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=PN55N) that is compatible with ESXi and vCenter 6.7 without success.

You are right, probably the vib isn't compatible with 6.7 but I don't know that this is related to the storage unknown status issue.

Same here, everything works besides the Unknown statuses.

Can you try this if you haven't already:

On a Windows machine, install Dell OpenManage and try to connect to your ESXi environment using IP, username and password, and make sure "Ignore certificate warnings" is checked. On ESXi 6.5 I had no issues connecting, but on 6.7 it hangs at the "Verifying Credentials" screen. I'm thinking this might be the key to what's going on and it boiling down to the fact that Dell didn't release an OMSA VIB yet for ESXi 6.7. The version 9.1.0 is only supported on ESXi 6.0 and 6.5.
