390, use RX 570 or RX 580?
Hello, i have dell optiplex 390 using - Core i5-2400 - Ram 4GB - Power supply 500watt 80+ bronze - SSD 24GB Can i use VGA Radeon RX 570 or RX 580 on my pc? Last time my pc can run vga nvidia gtx 560ti, gtx 1050, gtx 1050 ti.... i want to try use radeon graphic but confuse about this vga need UEFI bios and i try to search at google not found any thread for discuss optiplex 390 using new radeon graphic may some one in this community has tried optiplex 390 using new radeon graphic Sorry for bad english Thanks Regard,

Machine sounds like Legacy-BIOS type (non-UEFI) machine, so ... probably not. It's an "AMD thing".
Like @beamermt79 says, it would have to have a "dual BIOS" switch. I haven't heard of AMD cards with those in many years.
However, according to reports ... Nvidia cards (like GTX-1050) WILL work in old non-UEFI machines.

500w is too small.
You need an evga 700B1 or 750B1
Must have 150W or more on the 3.3v/5v rails combined. 90 to 130W is not sufficient.
R series cards DO NOT WORK in older dells because they do not support MSDOS VESA video mode 103.
older Radeon HD 5450 6450 6670 7750 8550 work fine.

No, actually at its maximum during gaming is 157.7 which in my belief his PSU is more capable.

I'm talking about the POWER SUPPLY SPECIFICATIONS and combined power for the 3.3V/5V rails. Dell power supply's all the way down to 305W units have 142w OR MORE combined on those rails. This GOES UP to 225w on a DELL 875W unit. Power supplies are not a single spec of watts ignoring the other rails.
Either way R series cards ARE NOT WORKING on older dells due to not supporting DOS VESA Video mode 103. F2 bios setup uses DOS VESA MODE 103 and therefore you get black screen im not ever going to work. Sapphire /Powercolor support is less than supportive of this. No issues using EVGA GTX 960 970 980 1050TI GT 1030 etc.
There's an easy way to test this. Find the support number of the one you want to buy and call them and ask them why the card gives a black screen and no way to F2 into bios. If they say they don't support non UEFI bios and or DOS VESA Video Mode 103 then you have your answer. This card works fine in older and brand new dells without issue.

I ve a dell optiplex 3020 MT and i got a brand new rx 570 4gb mining edition. i replaced the psu to a thermaltake 700w and i use a 24 pin to 8 pin connector for the the motherboard . My computer just works fine but when the GPU is installed the computer turns on, CPU fan is spinning / GPU fans too /the lights are on but no display, nothing shown on the screen. i put the the VGA cable to the convertor and then i plug it into the GPU. the computer turns on but no boot and nothing shown on the screen again . and when i plug the VGA cable into the motherboard it works and i can see the GPU information on CPUZ. .i updated the bios to the latest version that i found on dell website, and put the boot mode on UEFI . i put secure boot OFF and legacy option roms ON? but the same thing happened. so what other ways i can try ? ? Note i m plugging the 8 in the GPU and every other cable is plugging properly.
