7050, connect two U2412M monitors?

I have two of the U2412M monitors that I want to connect to a Dell OptiPlex 7050 so I can have the extended work area across the two monitors. What cables do I need and what connections do I need to make?

thanks

Depends on what model, the desired resolution, digital or analog, whether or not you are using INTEL Graphics or an actual GPU etc.  There is a Micro, an SFF, a Desktop, and a Tower version.

Not sure of the model? The service tag is Given the above, what would I need to connect? I tried connecting each U2412M to each DP port on the 7050, but did not get it to work

thanks

Click my DELL-username. Under, "Contact Me", click, "Send this user a private message". Send me the private 7050 service tag number.

2 Monitors does not work when you are using onboard INTEL Video with the Generic VGA driver.  You must install the OEM INTEL GRAPHICS and USB3 and AMT HECI chipset drivers.

You have the Optiplex 7050 MT (Mini Tower). If you do NOT have an added discrete PCIe x16 video card installed in the blue PCIe x16 slot, you should be able to use the top/rear video out ports = HDMI/DP/DP

* Turn the 7050 and both U2412M off
* Disconnect the second U2412M from the 7050
* Connect only one U2412M =
7050 left DP out port --> DP to DP cable --> U2412M DP in port
* Turn the U2412M on, then the 7050. Does anything appear on screen? If yes;

* Connect the second U2412M to the right DP out port
7050 right DP out port --> DP to DP cable --> U2412M DP in port
* Turn the second U2412M on
* Use windows to activate and extend to it

On-board integrated Intel graphics (on that machine) has TWO DisplayPorts?

I don't play that, but that is actually pretty cool and handy.

@SJNAPL , remember ... you have to Extend the second one in Display Prefs.

speedstep,

7050 MT (Mini Tower) = Onboard video out ports HDMI/DP/DP (optional VGA)
7050 SFF (Small Form Factor) = Onboard video out ports HDMI/DP/DP
7050 MFF (Micro Form Factor) = Onboard video out ports HDMI/DP
