9010 SFF, different size DIMM installation
I have a OPTIPLEX 9010 SFF System. I want to install different Size DIMM's. Your help and insight will be much appreciated!
I have two: 8GB Cruical PC3-12800U 1600MHz DDR3 240 pin DIMM
and two: 4GB Cruical PC3-12800U 1600MHz DDR3 240 pin DIMM
I know where to install them, but what is my best "configuration" for them, please?
2 8GB Cruical PC3-12800U 1600MHz DDR3 240 pin DIMM 1 and DIMM 2
and 2 4GB Cruical PC3-12800U 1600MHz DDR3 240 pin DIMM 3 and DIMM 4
or
1 8GB Cruical PC3-12800U 1600MHz DDR3 240 pin DIMM 1
1 4GB Cruical PC3-12800U 1600MHz DDR3 240 pin DIMM 2
and
1 8GB Cruical PC3-12800U 1600MHz DDR3 240 pin DIMM 3
1 4GB Cruical PC3-12800U 1600MHz DDR3 240 pin DIMM 4

From what I get out of the Dell manual, install the 8GB modules in the WHITE release lever slots. Install the 4GB in the other two slots.

Many thanks for your FAST reply and help! I am out of town or I would have tried sooner. I am excited to try the recommended RAM setup as soon as I return.
I scoured the manuals I have but didn't locate my specific issue ~ but I am thankful you did!
I greatly appreciate your time and effort.
