Dell AMD Radeon RX 550, 4GB, Low-Profile temps
Hi,
i have a question about my GPU temperatures?
Right after the start it went up to 60-62˚C with no workload and normal room temperature and gets up to like 75˚C when watching video streams like YouTube or twitch.
The GPU is mounted into a SFF case, and for sure the airflow isn't that great. But I don't think that has any effect when it climbs to the 60˚C mark, after googling around for 10min and never gets below this mark.
For me it seems too high, or maybe I`m wrong.

Hello,
thanks for the answers!
it seems the biggest issue is that i`m running a dual monitor setup with different resolutions and different connections, so that the memory clockspeed of the gpu stucks at the max of 1500Mhz instead of 300Mhz.

This and the fact of poor airflow, a tiny cooler and a small distance between the gpu and the PSU seems to bringing the GPU temp to the higher scores. Disconnecting one monitor or connecting two similar monitors would help a lot for memory clock speed!
best regards

Hello,
I bought the same GPU from Dell. When I play video games my temp is between 80-85 to 86C.
Is that too hot and harmful on the long run? It would be nice to hear from Dell what the official temps are.
And another point, how to control them in a cramped housing.
Maybe 80mm intake fan?
I have seen those posts, but nothing official ...

Thanks
It is Optiplex 7070SFF.
I haven’t measured, but to me seems that hole on the front part below Dell grey part are for 80mm fan. I guess I will have to measure if I need a smaller one.
It is pity that Dell doesn’t have detailed specs of the GPU and what temps are acceptable as cards from different manufacturers can have different specs.

It's not said what model Optiplex SFF you have.
Measure the space. I think you might have to go smaller than 80mm. it should help with your temps.
Be sure to not get a fan that's only advertised as "silent." It'll probably be low airflow. Check the RPM's. It should go up to at least 2,000-2,500 RPM. Many people like those Noctua fans.

There's many things Dell doesn't document.

Recently I've found this interesting video for improve the very bad Optiplex SFF airflow.
It's awesome!
