Optiplex 3040, DP not working

Question

Just bought a brand new Dell Optiplex 3040 and with one dell 23inch monitor and 24 inch Samsung. Connected all the monitors on two different ports HDMI and DP on the pc and switched on the pc only one is working the HDMI one. What can i do so that all both monitors work?

You have to 'Extend' Windows Desktop to the 2nd one.

In the Control Panel - Display, you get to decide which monitors you want as #1 and #2. Both should show. (or) Right click on Desktop and selecting "Screen Resolution" also brings you to display settings. - Granted it's the same on your version of Windows.
