Optiplex 3050 micro M.2 SSD setup
Hello,
Is OptiPlex 3050 Micro has compatibility issue with other M.2 SSD? I tried installing WD Green M.2 2280 120GB (WDS120G1G0B), but it can't be detected. I've checked the bios and it says {Empty} on System Information. I've checked System Configuration->Drives and both SATA-0 and M.2 PCIe SSD-0 are checked. I've also updated to latest BIOS ver 1.7.4 but to no avail. What did I miss? What seems to be the issue? Why it cant be detected?
Thanks in advance.

You can try, with the M.2 installed, to reset the CMOS Memory (BIOS) and see if that gets it detected. To reset the CMOS memory, with the PC powered off, remove the CR2032 battery on the motherboard for at least 10 minutes. Reinstall the battery, observing, polarity and power on. See if this helps.
If not, do you have access to another PC that you can try the M.2 on to verify its working OK?

Thanks for your reply. I tried to remove BIOS battery for atleast 30min, also tried the Legacy and UEFI mode, but no change. Slot is still empty in BIOS.

That is right, OptiPlex 3050 supports just PCIe Bus, WD Green needs SATA: http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln306629/optiplex-3050-support-for-pcie-m2-ssd-hard-drives?lang=en
