PCI-Express Network Adapter

Hello, when I plug in an Intel Network Adapter X550-T2 my dell OptiPlex 780 says that I can't use Display port at the same time as this PCI-Express card.
Can anything be done to resolve this?
Grateful for answers

Have you tried the card in any other slots?

Hello, as Brad pointed out, the network card may have been installed on the video graphics slot.  The system could be confused and the error message indicating that you can't connect both of the onboard and dedicated graphics at the same time.  If that was the cause, moving the network card to a different slot may solve the problem.

Agreed.

Or disable the on-board network card. Having two NICs in system is an unusual config.

Last question is why install a PCIe-NIC if it has an on-board one?

The Setup and Features Information manual for the 780 states (page 7): "NOTE: The PCI Express x16 slot is disabled when a display is connected to the integrated DisplayPort connector." (I don't think the card will fit in any other slots; it's apparently a 10-Gbit card.)
