WIFI card transfer.

Optiplex 380 Mini Desktop Win7 x64 I need a wireless card for my Optiplex. Apparently it can use a 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card as signified by this driver: http://www.dell.com/support/home/ca/en/cabsdt1/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=R255720 My questions are: Can I pull a the 1505 mini-card from my 10 year old Inspiron 1720 notebook and insert it into the Optiplex ? If this *is* the identical/compatible card will it 'install' without alteration to hardware ? Lastly, will this card work with the faster Linksys EA6300 (which I have) ? https://www.linksys.com/gb/p/P-EA6300/

802.11N 2.4ghz does not change into 5.0ghz 802.11ac.   AC routers are backwards compatible.

Safer more effective route is USB AC600 adapters.  They are not expensive and work without installing drivers on newer versions of windows like 8 and 10.

There is a difference between Mini PCI-E and Mini Msata USB ports.

So you cant just mix and match willy nilly from one thing to another and it works.

So you're saying no tickety-boo. I thought it was a stretch. Didn't realize there was a work-around, ie an adapter. Can I assume that this would work ?

Regardless, thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge. Appreciated.
