computers can't see each other

I have 2 brand new Windows 10 Pro computers.  Neither computer can see the other computer.  I have a printer hard wired to one computer and have enabled the share function so that the other computer can use it.  That other computer can not find it.  I have looked at the computer name of each computer and the other computer can not see it.

Both computers are on the same workgroup name.  I took my laptop and had it join that workgroup.  My laptop could not see either computer.  I changed the router but that made no difference.  The only firewall I have is what came with the system and I turned it off but it made no difference.

Networking is easy but something odd is going on that is preventing these computers from being seen.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Jerry

The page refers to XP as the basis of a Peer to Peer Network HOWEVER the principles are still the same.

Of course a HomeGroup is the way to go.

Be sure both are NOT connected to Homegroup.
Be sure both ARE CONNECTED to same WORKGROUP.
Be sure both are on Private Network (so you can set desired options)

If Windows (Peer-to-Peer Networking) Browse-Master is confused, try entering this in Windows Explorer: \\COMPUTER-NAME
