EMC BRS Solution for Oracle 11g without Hot Backup Mode on

With EMC storage-based snapshots solution to take image copies of Oracle database on an EMC storage, Oracle hot backup mode is no longer required.  This offers some relief for database servers in terms of CPU, I/O, and memmory consuption:

- Improve performamce by substantially frees the DB server and I/O subsystem from additional overhead (only change data rather than entire block)

- Reduce complexity of backup and restore process by automatic manegement of EMC Replication Manager, no additional steps required for DB replication as DB is not in hot backup mode.

- Reduce TCO by saving CPU, RAM costs.

Please refer to the EMC White Paper 'EMC Backup & Restore for Oracle Database 11g without Hot Backup Mode Using DNFS and ASM on FC'.
